Triton Submarines, which sells subs priced [**anywhere between $2.5m and $40m**](https://www.ft.com/content/7cf54315-e549-456c-b3c9-611d80b280a9?accessToken=zwAAAYUHJra5kc989UMV5UlFbNOzyWEdgLKAqQ.MEUCIQCq7uuVlIS-Y8v_HaHzZnfQZmBgTZRi1ku8xDe3h69gBgIgXPxL6p2vMAucw3j0vT_m-jbd9Af1SulShsLcbxqrzAo&sharetype=gift&token=d76dae5e-cb28-42d2-848b-62d5719b3b11), is now partly owned by Dalio and Cameron. ![Digits: Submarines, songs, and other news numbers](https://hs-sbup.thehustle.co/hs-fs/hubfs/The%20Hustle%20News/Assets/Images/1619762651-HS-News-Brief_2022-12-19T005804.434Z.webp?width=595&height=400&name=1619762651-HS-News-Brief_2022-12-19T005804.434Z.webp) **2)** Here’s a stat that may surprise you: New research found that [**29% of Americans**](https://matthewstaiger.github.io/matthewstaiger.com/The%20Intergenerational%20Transmission%20of%20Employers%20and%20the%20Earnings%20of%20Young%20Workers.pdf) work for a parent’s employer before turning 30, which is estimated to increase one’s initial earnings by 19%. **3) **You’ve heard of MIT, but you may not have heard of New York’s Baruch College, a relatively affordable public university where Masters in Financial Engineering grads see an average [**starting salary of ~$170k**](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2022-12-15/school-of-quant-at-29-000-an-nyc-college-outclasses-princeton?leadSource=uverify%20wall&sref=3Ac2yX40), roughly a fifth higher than those at MIT. **4) **Songs sure are getting shorter. A 2018 study found that, since 2000, Billboard Hot 100 songs have trended down from [**~4:10 minutes to 3:30**](https://www.billboard.com/pro/songs-getting-shorter-tiktok-streaming/).
