*“Five. 5 dollar. 5-dollar footloooong.”*

About a decade ago, that jingle worked magic for Subway. But over time, stiff competition and overexpansion put sales out of tune.

This year, though, Subway [launched](https://www.subway.com/PressReleases/Subway%C2%AE%20Restaurants%E2%80%99%20Historic%20Brand%20Refresh%20Results%20in%20Positive%20Sales%20Momentum.pdf) digital upgrades and menu updates, and the business is back to slicin’ and dicin’:

- Over 5k Subways have seen a 33% increase in sales
- August sales in the US were the strongest since 2013
- The company expects to beat 2021 targets by $1B+

*“Billion. Billion-dollar. Billion-dollar footloooong.”* Damn, that’s a [good jingle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5bSjAPkDvw).
